Glee Gone Wild in GQ Magazine Spread!

Hello Sweetea,

Lea Michele (Rachel) and fellow Glee actress Dianna Agron (Quinn) agreed and succeed in doing a photo shoot for GQ magazine. Have you seen it yet Glee fans? This reminds me of the question I asked the readers a while back would you make a Sex Tape or pose nude to get ahead. Well, the 2 ladies of Glee answered yes they would pose what some would say are over the top and a little too sexy for the hit TV series Glee characters that are depict as high school students on channel Fox 5 every Tuesday at 8 pm.

Lea who normally wears a cardigan and knee length skirts when she appears as high school student Rachel in the hit TV series Glee let out her alter ego and a lot of parents are finding it hard to see the 24 year old sitting on a locker-room bench dressed in bare to nothing with her legs wide open, and holding a blow pop in her hand (no pun intended).  On the other hand Dianna Agron photos are much safer than Lea’s but she does show her provocative side in the classroom! But what really upsets me and points out the double standards in our society is why Cory isn’t portrayed as a sex object and only the girls are?

According to Tim Winter, president of the conservative TV watchdog, the Parents Television Council, described the shoot as one that “borders on pedophilia”. He expressed the actresses may be over 21, but they depict high school girls in the popular show and they are exploiting the same characters in the photo shoot. It is disturbing that GQ, which is explicitly written for adult men, is sexualizing the actresses who play high school-aged characters on Glee in this way. Sadly, this is just the latest example of the overt sexualisation of young girls in entertainment and anyone seeing the magazine would be treated to seductive, in-your-face poses of the underwear-clad female characters posing in front of school lockers, one of them opting for a full-frontal crotch shot”.

GQ Responding to the PTC’s complaint go to say: “The Parents Television Council must not be watching much TV these days and should learn to divide reality from fantasy. As often happens in Hollywood, these ‘kids’ are in their twenties. Cory Monteith’s is almost 30! I think they’re old enough to do what they want.”

The ladies of the View also had something to say about the matter…..

Lea Michele has not yet responded personally to the PTC complaint, but Dianna Agron put out a statement on her blog giving the impression she was not totally happy with the shoot. Really Lea Really!?!? Now you want to disclose you’re not happy with the photo shoot…. Come on you did it and I know you had to expect some negative feedback! Please don’t try to act innocent now! Yes I can understand being remorseful for doing the photo show but don’t act like you didn’t agree to do the GQ spread!

This is what she blogged: “Nobody is perfect, and these photos do not represent who I am,” “For GQ, they asked us to play very heightened versions of our school characters. A ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time‘ version. At the time, it wasn’t my favorite idea, but I did not walk away.”

What I truly find amazing is why the 2 girls are accompanied in the photograph by 28-year-old actor Cory Monteith (Finn), who on the cover is FULLY DRESSED (what is that all about?) and he has his HANDS FIMLY HOOKED to each girl’s REAR END! Because he was fully dressed he escapes all the criticism the 2 young ladies are enduring…

What do you think??? Is it fair the 2 girls are getting beat up for the photo shoot?

Do you think the pictures are OFFENSIVE or NOT OFFENSIVE?
